The English teacher will organize the instruction in order to accomplish learning progression by defining specific teaching objectives and outlining how they will be taught through:
- Setting assignments that challenge students and maintain high levels of enthusiasm;
- Setting specific goals and building on previous accomplishments;
- Identifying SEN/EAL students;
- Providing explicit instructional frameworks, while retaining the speed, motivation, and difficulty;
- Making good use of evaluation and ensuring program coverage;
- Maintaining strong work and housework standards;
- Using a range of teaching approaches to fit content approach, structure information, and convey information.
Monitoring, evaluation, recording, and reporting:
- Monitors and analyzes the efficacy of personal instruction in order to maintain high standards and guarantee student advancement;
- Critically evaluates own teaching in order to enhance the effectiveness;
- When necessary, engages in classroom observations of colleagues (peer observations) as well as peer observations.
Curriculum Creation:
- Develops strategies for the creation and maintenance of the school’s curriculum as part of a team, including defined objectives and success criteria;
- Contributes to the planning activities of the entire school.
